Nonequilibrium statistical physics, rare events and microscopic heat engines
I am a PhD student in Physics at the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), conducting part of my doctoral research at Hasselt University (Belgium) through the BOF-BILA program.
My research lies at the interface of stochastic thermodynamics, nonequilibrium statistical physics and statistical mechanics of interacting systems. I study how microscopic systems exchange heat, perform work and produce entropy when thermal fluctuations, collective effects and rare events play a central role.
I am particularly interested in stochastic heat engines, nonequilibrium phase transitions, interacting spin models and Brownian systems. My work combines analytical methods from master equations, stochastic processes and large-deviation theory with numerical simulations.
